2020 Spymaster Series "Liberation of Paris" Cabernet Sauvignon
Our Spy Master Series is in dedication to our owner’s grandfather, William Bitner Browne, an American spy stationed in Europe during WWII. Each Spymaster is cut from our most premium crop, composed of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. The name of each bottle reflects a different aspect of Bitner’s time during the war. There are five in series.
Lot 4 Liberation of Paris: Bitner was an official OSS officer during the Liberation of Paris earning a Bronze Star, Croix de Guerre, and Reconnaissance Medallion for his WWII achievements.
TASTING NOTES
Earthy notes of cedar and dust lead to flavors of red cherry, raspberry, and Santa Rosa plum. This is full-bodied Cabernet has bright yet balanced acid with round tannins. On the finish, toasted oak and vanilla lead to lingering cherry pie notes. Bright acid and soft tannins make this wine ideal to try with spicy foods such as carnitas, fajitas, stir fries, and Greek foods.
